I’m delighted that my book St David’s Day is Cancelled! has been shortlisted for this year’s Tir nan-Og Award. The winner will be announced at a reception with the Welsh Book Council and CILIP at the National Library of Wales in Aberystwyth on Wednesday 9th May.

Here’s a review of St David’s Day is Cancelled! by the brilliant Nina Bookworm.

My Review of Not Thomas by Sara Gethin #contemporary fiction — Sara Gethin

Early copies of ‘Not Thomas’, my debut novel for adults, are available to buy now. Judith Barrow reviewed ‘Not Thomas’ and she’s given it 5 stars. I’m delighted!

Year 5 @ Burry Port Community Junior School

Thank you to Year 5 at Burry Port Community School and Mrs Nicholas for inviting me to talk about my new book ‘St David’s Day is Cancelled’. It was a really interesting afternoon, talking about books and book blurb. The class was great at spotting what makes a good book blurb… they taught me a few things about it! Year 5 had thought up some great questions too! Were they great? Yes, they were!

(An ellipsis, a question mark and two exclamation marks – what do you think Year 5?)

I was thrilled that Welsh Cakes and Custard was awarded the 2014 Tir na n-Og prize by the Welsh Books Council.

The award was for the best English-language title for children, with an authentic Welsh background.
