Virtual School Visits!

As visiting schools in person is not possible at the moment, I’m having lots of fun with virtual trips!

Huge thanks to the staff and children of Trallwn Primary School, Swansea, for arranging my virtual visit to Dragonfly Class this term. It was fantastic to finally meet you all. Thank you so much for reading my stories. I had a wonderful time! Keep reading, keep writing, and follow your dreams!

And huge thanks, too, to the staff and children of Stebonheath Primary School, Llanelli, especially Year 3, Year 3/4 and Year 4, for allowing me to share my stories and for reading my books in class. Thank you to Llanelli Library, too, for helping to organise the sessions. I had lots and lots of fun! Keep reading, keep writing, and follow your dreams!

Please use the ‘Contact Me’ page on this site should you wish to book a virtual visit for your school!

Tir Nan-Og Award Shortlist 2018

I’m delighted that my book St David’s Day is Cancelled! has been shortlisted for this year’s Tir nan-Og Award. The winner will be announced at a reception with the Welsh Book Council and CILIP at the National Library of Wales in Aberystwyth on Wednesday 9th May.

Here’s a review of St David’s Day is Cancelled! by the brilliant Nina Bookworm.

My Review of Not Thomas by Sara Gethin #contemporary fiction — Sara Gethin

Early copies of ‘Not Thomas’, my debut novel for adults, are available to buy now. Judith Barrow reviewed ‘Not Thomas’ and she’s given it 5 stars. I’m delighted!

Originally posted on Judith Barrow: I gave Not Thomas 5* out of 5* My Review: Every now and then I read a book that sets all my sense tingling with the brilliance of it. And this is why I wanted to write my review in a different way than normal. I don’t just mean that…

Year 5 @ Burry Port Community Junior School

Thank you to Year 5 at Burry Port Community School and Mrs Nicholas for inviting me to talk about my new book ‘St David’s Day is Cancelled’. It was a really interesting afternoon, talking about books and book blurb. The class was great at spotting what makes a good book blurb… they taught me a few things about it! Year 5 had thought up some great questions too! Were they great? Yes, they were!

(An ellipsis, a question mark and two exclamation marks – what do you think Year 5?)
